Really pleased that Ess*x County Council have listened to residents concerns on safety and deployed security patrols in Chelmsford as part of operation vanguard.

This should help people feel safer.

While not a solution it is some local practical action to the uniparty and Lib Dems open border experiments.

Peter Harris visits Wethersfield asylum centre

Peter Harris has visited the asylum accommodation at the former RAF Wethersfield site near Braintree, and what he saw raises some very reasonable questions about how the system is operating.

During his visit, Peter saw sports facilities including football pitches, gyms, an indoor sports hall, cricket and basketball facilities, as well as martial arts training.

He also saw dining facilities providing a choice of meals and fresh food, accommodation where two or three people share rooms, and a medical centre with GPs and nurses available to residents.

For many local residents who struggle to get a GP or dental appointment when they need one, seeing this level of healthcare provision on site is understandably frustrating and raises questions about how healthcare resources are being allocated.

Peter was told that around 800 people are currently accommodated at the site, with further accommodation being prepared. He also saw buses taking residents into surrounding towns including Chelmsford, Braintree and Colchester.

The point here is not to attack individuals who have come to the UK. It is perfectly reasonable, however, to ask questions about the cost of this accommodation, the level of facilities being provided and the impact on local communities.

At a time when councils are under huge financial pressure and local residents are struggling with the cost of living, people are entitled to ask whether this is the right way to be spending public money.

Wethersfield is not an abstract issue. It is in our county, and the consequences of the Government’s asylum policy are being felt here in Ess*x.

On Feb 5 2026, a Reform Chelmsford member submitted an FOI to Ess*x Police asking for the number of offences in Chelmsford split by offence type & self defined nationality.
For 2025, or the latest rolling year, with 2024 for comparison.

Ess*x Police confirmed it was logged and said they’d respond within 20 working days under FOIA.

By April 24 they apologised for “below expected” service and delays.

By Aug 2, despite phone calls and messages still no official reply. Final email request sent.

Aug 22, Ess*x Police were reported to the Information Commissioners Office (ICO) to be investigated to see if this failure to meet performance standards is systematic or deliberate.

If the Ess*x wide data exists, why is the Chelmsford breakdown still outstanding 6+ months later?

We’re asking for transparency, not delay Ess*x Police please publish Chelmsford statistics.

Just another day in Labour and Lib Dem paradise. 🙂

The Government is now issuing guidance to asylum seekers telling them not to s*xually harass people, follow them, block their path or even make kissing noises at them.

Seriously.

Whatever happened to simply understanding that these things are unacceptable in the first place?

Britain needs proper enforcement of our laws, clear expectations and consequences when those expectations are ignored.

UK arrivals have been told to treat women equally, not s*xually assault partners or have s*x with children in a new Home Office pamphlet. As well as the guidebook, a series of posters have also been designed by the government.

A fantastic first 100 days for our Great Baddow and Galleywood County Councillor, Kevin Bellamy! 👏🏻👏🏻

We’re incredibly proud of everything Kevin has already done for residents across the area.

From getting stuck into local issues, litter picking and supporting residents, to championing our libraries, youth services and the wider community, he hasn’t stopped.
