Today has been a proud day for Labour in Bury.

We continue to buck the national trend proving that our hard working councillors have the respect and trust of voters in the borough.

We’re looking forward to welcome our new Labour Councillor Julie Southworth in North Manor, Adnan Chaudhry in Holyrood and Charlotte Hunt in Ramsbottom but we’re very sad to see Cllr Nikki Frith lose her seat in Redvales - Nikki, thank you for all your work as a councillor and deputy cabinet member.

Labour in Bury has achieved some fantastic results today, thank you to all of the councillors, members, volunteers and of course the residents who supported Labour during this local election.

All the results of yesterday’s Bury Council elections have now been declared, following counting of the votes today at Castle Leisure Centre.

Birch Street, Hornby Street, Walmersley Rd (back), Monmouth Avenue & Birley Street have all had flytipping signs erected on lamp posts.

I was out knocking doors on Brandlesholme Road today. Loads of positive conversations about why I want people to vote for me. These are my pledges to you 👇

🛣️ Get our roads fixed and potholes filled. I will fight in the council chamber for Elton to get its fair share of the £12 million Bury Labour has committed and get things done.

🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍🧒 Extra support services for families and children. Bury Labour is delivering family hubs across the borough that everyone can access, and I will work closely in the council and with our brilliant community groups and residents to maximise the benefits of this.

👮‍♀️👮‍♀️ More neighbourhood policing and CCTV, stronger enforcement, and zero tolerance on dodgy shops. I’ll continue to work closely with Elton’s police and community groups to raise and tackle issues residents are concerned about.

🌳 More investment and improvements for our parks, green spaces and community facilities. I will champion our area and fight week in week out to make Elton an even better place to live.

🗃️💪 I’ve worked hard in Elton every week since being selected as your candidate. I will step this up if elected and be a hardworking, visible, contactable and responsible councillor.

This is an opportunity to turn the page on the current Reform councillor who has let residents down by only managing to do 11 record pieces of council casework and deprived Elton of his community investment budget because he either couldn’t be bothered, forgot, or didn’t think the community deserved it.

We reported it and now it's gone.

Any flytipping issues please let us know and we'll request it gets cleared and attempts are made to identify the culprits.
