Eagles Road Park

Eagles Road Park We are seeking funding for our local park to be reinstated. Without this playground there are few recreational areas in the Village.

EAGLES ROAD PARK ASSOCIATION (ERPA)

As some of you may be aware the playground in Eagles Road has been removed to carry out cliff repair works. We have been reliably informed that the park is not going to be replaced due to the lack of finances. Our mission is to reverse this decision and to get both local and borough councils to commit to replacing the playground

We need to get as much support

as possible from Greenhithe Residents. We have no guarantee that if the site is left it will not be built on in the future. The last thing we need in Greenhithe Village is more housing! We also do not want an area left to grow unsightly. We need people in the Village and the surrounding area to support us by joining the group, and also if you have contacts in the local or borough councils, local press or can do some fundraising it would be greatly appreciated. The playground was originally part of the provisions that the developer entered into when the houses were built and we cannot allow it to be taken away. We should be providing more outdoor spaces for our children not less.

To get the Playground reinstated we need to set up a committee; Nina Allen and myself (Caroline Cheary) are behind the ERPA group. We need more people to get involved and take part. We aim to meet about 6 times a years (once every two months - usually in the Sir John Franklin).
Until we have a committee and a constitution we cannot get a bank account and we cannot get any kind of funding. If you are parent with children that would benefit from the park or like me just a concerned resident then please get in touch - we only need a couple of hours of your time once every two months. Thank you all in anticipation of your participation

Right the purpose of this page is to get the playground in Eagles Road put back by the Local Authority after the works to reduce the chalk cliff have been completed.

There are many homes within walking distance of the playground and therefore lots of children to play in it. There are only two playgrounds close to Eagles Road/High Street/Sara Crescent and surrounding roads - one in Ingress Park and the other near the Asda end of Sara Crescent - but these are only for toddlers!

We need the residents of this part of Greenhithe to support this page and the proposal to put the playground back.

If anyone has any contact with the media or the local/parish council get them on board. If anyone is able to help with equipment etc then get on board and help There are not enough green spaces and children only have one childhood! Lets make the children of Greenhithe have a safe fun place to play so when they are adults and have children of their own they can take them to same playground and share their memories with their children.
