🚀🌎 Space Explorers! 👽✨

Our Squirrels blasted off into space tonight as they started their Space Explorer Activity Badge! 🚀

We learned the names of the planets, played space-themed games, sketched the aliens we think might live on other planets 👽 and designed our very own planets using poster paint and shaving foam! 🎨🪐 The result was some wonderfully unique (and VERY fragrant! 😂) planets!

A big welcome to our new Squirrel, Jacob, who joined us in amongst all the space chaos! 🌟🐿️

✨ What a night at Squirrels! ✨🐿️

Our Squirrels had a brilliant evening packed with games, lots of fun, plenty of sweets 🍬 and making their very own Squirrel-themed headbands! 🐿️👑

And, much to Phil’s delight… the glitter made an appearance! ✨😂

A huge well done to our Squirrels of the Week – Dylan, Freya, Sophia and Ben! ⭐👏

We also gave a very warm welcome to our newest Squirrel, Harvey, joining our Drey! 🐿️❤️

Another fantastic night with our amazing Squirrels! 🌟

🐿️💚 Welcome Back, 1st Greenisland Squirrels! 💚🐿️

What a brilliant first night back after our summer break! 🎉 We had lots of fun playing games, getting back into the Squirrel spirit and making our very own moveable squirrel crafts! 🐿️✂️

A very warm welcome to our newest Squirrels — Freya, Lily, Sophia and Ethan! 🌟 We’re so excited to have you join our Squirrel Drey! 💚

We also welcomed our new Duke of Edinburgh helpers Ruan and Grace, who will be joining us alongside our returning helpers Sara and Ryan. We’re delighted to have you all on board! 👏

☀️ NEW TERM – MEETING NIGHT UPDATE ⚜️
We hope everyone has had a fantastic summer! As we get ready for another busy Scouting year, we have a couple of changes to our section meeting nights and times.
📅 Our new term will begin the week commencing Monday 14th September, with our weekly meetings as follows:
🐿️ Squirrels – Monday | 6.00–7.00pm
⚜️ Scouts – Monday | 7.00–8.30pm NEW NIGHT
🐺 Cubs – Tuesday | 6.30–8.00pm NEW NIGHT
🦫 Beavers – Thursday | 6.30–7.45pm
Squirrels and Beavers will continue on their usual nights, while Scouts and Cubs will be moving to their new meeting nights.
These changes will help us work around leader availability and hopefully give us the opportunity to welcome even more young people into our Group.
We’re looking forward to seeing everyone back and hearing all about your summer adventures! 🏕️🌲🔥⚜️

💚 Could you help us make more adventures happen? ⚜️

We’re looking for some new volunteers to join our amazing team of leaders, and we’re especially in need of help with our Cub section.

You don’t need to have Scouting experience, know how to light a fire 🔥 or be an expert camper! 😂 You just need a little time, enthusiasm and a willingness to get involved. Full support and training are provided.

Volunteering with Scouts is great fun, a chance to learn new skills and, most importantly, an opportunity to make a real difference to local young people. 💚

Even if you can’t commit every week, we’d still love to hear from you.

👉 Interested or just want to find out a little more? Send us a message — no pressure and no obligation!

Please feel free to share this post and help us spread the word. 🙏⚜️

Happy Mother’s Day to all our brilliant Scout mums! 🌷

The ones who welcome children home covered in mud, have accepted glitter as a permanent feature of the car, stand outside the hall in the cold and dark waiting for sessions to finish… and somehow keep up with sewing all those badges onto jumpers. 🪡🏅

Today we’re celebrating all the incredible mother‑figures who support, guide and cheer on young people every day.

To the mums, grandmas, aunts, sisters, mentors, step‑mums, foster mums and anyone who’s ever offered care and encouragement — thank you. Your strength and kindness make such a difference. 💜🌸

Squirrel Scouts celebrated Australia Day in true Squirrel style! 🇦🇺🐿️
We dodged crocs in some very serious crocodile-themed games, created colourful dot art masterpieces, and (most importantly) made fairy bread.

We also said a big hello to our newest Squirrel, Jamie 👋 and a proud farewell to Charlie, Freddie, Luca and Katie as they move up to Beaver Scouts 🦫💛

And in true Squirrel timing, we finally handed out some very belated year badges to Henry, Luca, Harrison, Holly and Caden — who are somehow already almost due for their second year participation award! 😄🎉

🌟 1st Greenisland Scout Group Needs You! 🌟

We’re continually growing and our young people are buzzing with energy — but we need more adults to keep the adventure going.

Got an hour or two during the month? A talent to share? Or just a willingness to muck in and have fun?
You don’t need to be Bear Grylls — just up for giving it a go.

Help us create memories, build confidence, and shape the next generation right here in Greenisland.
Join the team. Make a difference. Have a laugh while you’re at it.

Drop us a message to find out more! 💬✨
