A fantastic project by pupils at Inverkip Primary and the Watt Institution has been recognised by SAMEE Group at their annual awards.

With their class teacher Katie D’Souza and Noel Griffin, digital learning and engagement officer from the Watt Institution, the P5 pupils worked on eight animated short films, which were published on the Inverclyde Council YouTube channel in June.

Now they have been given a Special Recognition Award at the Scottish Association of Minority Ethnic Educators (SAMEE) Awards 2026.

Well done to all involved 👏

Around 100 members of the regiment will parade along the Esplanade to Battery Park –led by their popular Shetland Pony mascot Corporal Cruachan IV. At the ceremony Provost Drew McKenzie will officially present the regiment with the Freedom of Inverclyde scroll.

Join us for this historic moment – all welcome!
