Today we look back to this on this day last year - when Knife Angel arrived at the Cathedral.

Knife Angel is the National Monument Against Violence & Aggression and tours towns and cities with the singular objective to bring about social change by educating children, young people and adults about the harmful effects that violent behaviour has on communities all across our nation.

Created by the British Ironworks centre in collaboration with sculptor Alfie Bradley, the sculpture is made of 100,000 knives gathered throughout the UK during knife amnesties.

During March 2023, when we hosted the 'Knife Angelโ€™ 25,000 people came to visit and take part in events and workshops.

Join us on Sunday evening outside Guildford Cathedral for our Light up a Life service.

If you would like to join us for the service but are unable to attend in person then you can watch online at
www.pth.org.uk/lual2023 where it will be live streamed and also a recording will be available after. Please note that the live stream will be of just the Service of Remembrance. (Sadly the projection of dedications is not easy to capture and read through a camera lens so this part of the projection will only be available to view in person on the night.)

Throwback to when the knife angel visited Guildford Cathedral In March 2023.

Did you know that the angel is made up of more than 100,000 blades from across the country that have been seized or placed in knife amnesty bins.

We encourage the public to drop off their unwanted knives or blades at our police front counters across Surrey. These amnesty bins are in place all year round.

You can find them at:
