Mental health is a subject close to the hearts of Project Aspire, and we are proud to see Guildford Cathedral illuminated in purple in recognition of

Cllr Iseult Roche, Lead Councillor for Project Aspire, Health, Safeguarding and Sport said:

“Within the UK it’s estimated that one in four adults and one in ten children are likely to have mental health problems which affects their ability to sustain relationships, work, or just get through the day. Mental Health Awareness Day on 10 October an innovative way of raising the issues that surround attitudes to mental health”

Cllr Roche added:
“Through Project Aspire we are committed to improving the lives of all our residents, including those with mental health problems. Mental health problems have sometimes been a taboo subject in the past. Although this is changing, we still need to work together. We are also working with Guildford First to highlight awareness. Within Guildford Borough Council, we are engaged with the ‘Time to Change’ campaign, and aim to remove the fear of stigma of talking about mental health issues at work.“
