As we only have limited access to system on bank holiday we popped up to get the library ready for the week and added just a few extra non-fiction books. All the new non-fiction and biography books added are on the table and are worth a browse. We also added two new Pokemon young readers available with lots of other young readers in the children's section.

We were busy this morning adding some great new books. Ideal for a rainy (or sunny) bank holiday. There are lots of great adult crime and adventure books and a few general fiction. Most of these books will be on the spinners. We also added some great new biography and non-fiction books but a slight confession we ran out of time to label and put out so you may not be able to find these for a few days but hopefully they will be displayed on table as you come in next week. Can you believe its week 6 of the Reading Challenge. If you still have books to be reviewed then try and pop in this week. We will try and work with you to complete.
This weeks theme is books to read aloud. Crafts include decorate a garden door/arch, make an alien and complete a summer snapshot. On the activity table we have jigsaws, tongue twisters and the tablet with musical activities to have a go at.

We are more than half way through the Summer Reading Challenge. Thirty six children have signed up and we hope to see all of them complete the challenge.
As usual we'll carry on after the children go back to school to give everyone the best possible chance to finish. If your child needs some additional help and encouragement to get to the end do get in touch with Jacqueline the Summer Reading Challenge co-ordinator and we'll try our very best to help and work with you and your child.

This Saturday is a Digital Saturday at Haddenham Library - just drop in between 10 and 12 and one of our digital champions will give you a helping hand.
Whether it's how to use Whatsapp, set up your own email account or simply how to turn your phone/tablet/laptop on or off or something equally frustrating- someone will be there to help you.
