If you're visiting the Ashdown Forest or one of the Wealden SANGS (Suitable Alternative Natural Green Space) during August or September, you may be approached by consultants from Footprint Ecology carrying out a short visitor survey on behalf of Wealden District Council.

The survey only takes a few minutes and helps us understand how people use these green spaces and how often they visit. This information is important for monitoring the use of Ashdown Forest and the effectiveness of our SANGS, to help us continue to provide great spaces for everyone to enjoy.

You said, we listened – and your ideas helped shape the play area at the Sports Hub.
What should a great play space look like? We asked local children and young people what they wanted to see, and their feedback helped influence the final design.

The result is a play area with a wider range of activities and spaces for children and families to enjoy, including:
• More swing provision
• A wide slide that allows a child and parent or carer to use it together
• An in-ground trampoline
• Natural play features and a dedicated quieter area
• Musical play
• Step-free routes through the play area and improved circulation
