On Thursday 13th August, West Yorkshire's annual Vision Zero event came to Calderdale, bringing a family-friendly day of activities to People's Park in Halifax.

The event, organised by the Vision Zero - West Yorkshire partnership, brought communities together to raise awareness of road safety across the region.

Our Public Health team spoke to members of the public about what matters most to them when it comes to road safety in their area. Their feedback will help shape a new Road Safety Plan for Calderdale which is currently in development.

If you, or someone you know, work for a local voluntary or community organisation that supports people aged 50+ you can apply for a grant of up to £400 in the lead-up to International Day of Older People on 1 October.

The grant is available for organisations to host an activity or event in October that is accessible to older people, their carers, family and friends. Activities should aim to help older people connect with local opportunities, promote wellbeing, and celebrate positive images of older people ageing well in Calderdale.
