Our vision is to be the leading school for educational excellence, with happy students who all contribute positively to society. The Crossley Heath School was founded in 1985 as an amalgamation of the Crossley and Porter School and Heath Grammar School.

🌍✨ Diversity Day is Tomorrow! ✨🌍

Tomorrow, we’ll be celebrating Crossley Heath Diversity Day 2026 with the theme:

💜 “Courage to Be You. Strength to Stand Together.” 💜

Students are invited to wear cultural clothing or non-uniform in exchange for a £1 charitable donation, helping us celebrate the rich diversity of our school community.

There will also be a lunchtime cultural festival featuring live music, face flag painting, henna designs and much more!

We’re looking forward to a fantastic day celebrating identity, culture, kindness and community at Crossley Heath. 🌎🤝💜

We’re really looking forward to welcoming our new Year 7 students and Sixth Form offer holders to The Crossley Heath School very soon! Here are some key dates to pop in your diary:

📅 Year 7 Parent Information Evening – Monday 29th June
Arrive from 5:30pm for a prompt start at 5:45pm

Join us for an evening designed to support parents in understanding their child's transition to secondary school. You'll gain insight into how our school operates, the support available, and have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have.

🎓 Sixth Form Offer Holders Evening – Tuesday 30th June
Arrive from 6:15pm for a prompt start at 6:30pm

Join us for an informative evening about starting at Crossley Heath Sixth Form. You’ll hear from the Headteacher, Sixth Form Team and current students, and learn more about our 5 Promises, enrichment opportunities, student life, and the support available to help you succeed.

🎉 Year 7 Transition Day – Friday 3rd July
Arrive from 8:30am for a prompt start at 8:45am

A fantastic chance for our new students to meet their form tutors, explore the school, make new friends and enjoy a taste of life at Crossley Heath. Please drop off and collect your child at 3:00pm from the Moor Gate entrance, where staff and Student Leaders will be there to guide them.

This will be a special day just for our new Year 7 and Year 12 students – a gentle and focused start to life at Crossley Heath.

🏆⚫🟡 Calderdale Champions! 🟡⚫🏆

A huge congratulations to our Year 10 Rounders Team, who were crowned Calderdale Rounders Champions last week after a fantastic afternoon of competition.

The team got off to a flying start with impressive victories over Calder and Rastrick, before a tense encounter with North Halifax. With the scores level going into the final ball, Sohana held her nerve and secured the winning half-rounder to seal a memorable victory.

The final challenge came against Rishworth, where another outstanding fielding display kept the opposition to just three rounders. Needing a result to secure the title, captain Clara stepped up with two brilliant rounders from two balls, supported by a crucial half-rounder from Harriet, to secure the win and the championship.

Throughout the competition, the team showed tremendous skill, teamwork, determination and composure under pressure. They represented Crossley Heath brilliantly and thoroughly deserved their success.

Congratulations to all involved on becoming Calderdale Champions 2026! 👏💜🏆

🚵‍♂️🏆✨ Mountain Biking Success for Miguel! ✨🏆🚵‍♂️

A huge congratulations to Miguel in Year 7, who achieved an excellent 3rd place finish in his age category at the North East Cross Country Mountain Bike Series last Friday.

Cross-country mountain biking is a demanding sport, with riders tackling challenging hills and mountainous terrain for around 20 minutes, requiring endurance, skill and determination. To finish on the podium is a fantastic achievement!

Miguel has been competing with Shibden Cycling Club through British Cycling events for several years and has already collected an impressive number of medals along the way.

We are incredibly proud of Miguel's dedication and success and look forward to hearing about many more achievements in the future. Well done, Miguel! 👏💜

🎶✨ Crossley Heath Students to Perform with the English Chamber Orchestra! ✨🎶

We are incredibly proud of Toby, Meimei Tat, Leo Tat and Rose Cufflin, who have been selected by Calderdale Music to perform with the prestigious English Chamber Orchestra at the Victoria Theatre on Monday 22nd June.

Rehearsals are already underway, and it is a fantastic achievement for all four students to have been chosen for this exciting opportunity.

A special mention goes to Toby, who will be performing on percussion as part of the concert.

The performance is free to attend, and we would love to see members of our Crossley Heath community supporting these talented young musicians.

🎭✨ Northern Arts Showcase Success! ✨🎭

A huge well done to the talented young performers from Northern Arts Youth Drama Group in their performance on Saturday as part of Northern Arts The Brave & Bold Showcase on Saturday.

What makes their achievement even more impressive is that they created and rehearsed their entire performance in just three hours before taking to the stage. The creativity, confidence and teamwork on display were truly remarkable!

We are incredibly proud of all the young people involved and the dedication they showed throughout the day. 👏💜

Tomorrow evening sees the return of the Crossley Heath Showcase 2026 and we can't wait to celebrate the incredible talents of our students.

With this year's theme, "A Thousand Ways to Tell a Story", visitors can enjoy a wonderful evening of student exhibitions, music performances and creative displays from across our school community.

🎟️ Tickets: £4 (FREE for under 19s)
🥤 Complimentary refreshments available throughout the evening
