โ ๏ธ Warm Weather Advice
With warmer weather expected across the area, please take extra care and look out for those who may be more vulnerable in the heat.
Older people, babies, young children and those with long-term health conditions can become unwell more quickly during hot weather. Please check in on friends, family and neighbours who may need a little extra support.
To help stay safe:
๐ง Drink plenty of water
๐ Keep your home cool by closing curtains and blinds in sunny rooms
๐งด Wear sunscreen, a hat and light clothing when outside
๐ณ Stay in the shade, especially during the hottest part of the day
๐ Never leave children, vulnerable people or dogs in parked cars
๐พ Walk dogs during cooler parts of the day and make sure they have access to shade and water
๐ถ Keep babies and young children out of direct sunlight and make sure prams have good airflow
If you are heading near the water, please take care. Open water can be dangerous, even in warm weather. Avoid swimming after drinking alcohol, stay within your depth and choose lifeguarded areas where possible.
