A driver was travelling down the road when they noticed a large amount of smoke coming from a front garden. 💨🔥
Harpenden fire crew was called out to investigate, only to find that it was a bonfire. 🚒🔥
Please do not have bonfires at this time of year. With the dry conditions, fires can quickly get out of control and spread to nearby gardens, fences, sheds and buildings. 🚫🔥🏡
Please stay safe and help keep our local fire crews available for genuine emergencies. 🙏👨‍🚒🚨

At 3:00 am on Sunday, August 16th, 2026, Harpenden Fire Crew assisted the East of England Ambulance Service. It's all about teamwork! 🚒🚑

Harpenden Fire Crew and St Albans Fire Crew, along with Hertfordshire Police and the East of England Ambulance Service, were called to an RTC on Redbourn Road.
The cause of the crash had not been established, and police have appealed for information.

Another busy day for the Harpenden Fire crew! 🚒

Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service had a very busy day of fire calls, including a large fire in Luton, a light aircraft crash, and several out-of-control bonfires.

The Harpenden crew was deployed to Bedford Fire Station to provide standby cover for a few hours.

A huge thank you to all the crews working hard to keep everyone safe. Stay safe, and please take extra care—no outdoor fires. 🚒🔥

🚒 Firefighters are continuing to tackle a fire at a large industrial unit in Ventura Park, Colney Street, St Albans.
The fire has been successfully contained within the unit, but crews expect to remain on scene for several hours.
⚠️ Please keep doors and windows closed if you live nearby and avoid the area to allow emergency services to work safely.

July has been an incredibly busy month for Harpenden Fire Station, with Harpenden Crew responding to over 51 emergency calls.
These incidents have included: 🚒 Field fires 🌿 Hedge fires 🏡 Shed fires 🌾 Haystack fires 🚗 Road traffic collisions 🚒 Standby duties supporting neighbouring stations
A huge thank you to all of our firefighters for their hard work and dedication throughout a very demanding month.
As we head into August, please help us by staying safe: 🔥 Please don't light bonfires during this dry weather. 🍔 If you're having a barbecue, keep buckets of water or a hose nearby, and never leave it unattended.
We hope you all have a safe August... and that we don't have to see you, unless it's at a community event!
