It’s now easy to donate online to the library service by visiting our website. We are often offered donations of money by users who wish to show their appreciation for the service. Those who visit the library are able to do this in person. Now you can also support the library serv

ice by donating online. Hertfordshire Libraries are a universal and free service to the community. Your decision to donate is an entirely voluntary one. We ask that you donate only as much as you feel comfortable with. You may want to consider either a one-off payment or more frequently.

Are you a film buff? Do you enjoy the craftsmanship of a well laid-out film poster? Then make sure to check out the travelling display of BFI classic film posters that will be coming around 11 Hertfordshire Libraries over the next 11 weeks.

The display includes posters for Star Wars: Episode IV- A New Hope (1977), Things to Come (1936) and Goldeneye (1995) among many others.

It’s the last week of our Local History displays at the library!

Our most famous resident, Elizabeth I, grew up in Hatfield House Old Palace. In our Hertfordshire Archives display you can see old pictures of the Old Palace and other Hertfordshire palaces where she stayed at various times in her life, including Ashridge House and Hertford Castle.

We also have book displays including other remarkable women of Hertfordshire.

Our next Quiet Book Club will be Thursday 4th June, 5:30pm - 7:00pm.

If you're in need of a little bit of calm during a busy week, come on by and get lost in a good book. There is no set text. Just bring along what you're reading or browse our collection.

There'll be half an hours chat with your fellow book clubbers followed by an hours peaceful uninterrupted reading. Perfect!

The event is free of charge with tea and coffee available. Donations welcome.

To help raise awareness and understand people living with dementia and their families, we have set aside fiction and non-fiction books for you take a look through and borrow.

Reminiscence collections are also free to borrow- this can help families and carers to remember the past and share experiences.
