Last month, we shared exciting news about LIFE - our new community-based day opportunities service for adults with learning disabilities in Harpenden, which is launching this autumn.
Today, we'd love to share our LIFE volunteering opportunity 💜
We're looking for Skilled LIFE Mentors - enthusiastic volunteers who have a passion or area of expertise they'd love to share with others.
Maybe you love gardening, enjoy cooking, have DIY skills, are passionate about fitness and wellbeing, or have experience in business, employability, travel or independent living.
You don't need to be a teacher, nor have any previous experience of working with adults with learning disabilities. What matters is that you have a skill you would like to share. Volunteers may lead or support activities, share practical knowledge, help LIFE attendees develop new skills, and most importantly, help create an inclusive environment where people can build confidence and discover their potential.
Important information:
- This role is based in Harpenden, AL5.
- Time commitment is ideally 2-3 hours per week but can be discussed.
- DBS check is required.
