Some of you may have noticed signs on Sandy Lane suggesting a road closure at the end of the month. I have contacted Highways and explained that this would leave Harpole with one way in and out. Anglian Water have agreed to postpone these works. No date has been suggested yet but Highways are aware of the situation and hopefully this will be when one of the other roads has reopened.

⛏️ During excavations ahead of the housing developments off Sandy Lane, archaeologists uncovered an extraordinary gold necklace dating from AD 630-670 ✨, the richest of its type ever found in Britain 🇬🇧.

👑 Discovered in the grave of a high-status woman, the 1,300-year-old necklace features at least 30 pendants and beads made from Roman coins, gold, garnets, glass and semi-precious stones.

🏺 This internationally significant find became known as The Harpole Treasure.
