Last week, a group of Junior Soldiers took the next step in their faith journey and chose to be baptised at the college’s chaplaincy 🕊️

This event came after weeks of dedicated study sessions and preparation, broadening understanding of their faith and learning more about its intersection with modern life in the military 📖

The British Army is proud to support soldiers of all faiths and none, with chaplaincy playing an important role in providing spiritual, pastoral and moral support throughout service life 🤝

Congratulations to those who were baptised, and thank you to our chaplains and all those who supported them on this important occasion 👏

From recruits to trained soldiers 🎓

Yesterday , we proudly celebrated the AFC(H) Graduation Parade, recognising the dedication, resilience and professionalism of our Junior Soldiers as they complete this important stage of their military journey 💪

Their success is a testament to months of hard work, determination and commitment. As they move on to their next appointments across the British Army, we congratulate each and every one of them on this outstanding achievement 🏆

A heartfelt thank you also goes to the families, friends and loved ones whose unwavering encouragement and support have played such an important role throughout their journey. Your pride, patience and belief have helped make this day possible ❤️

Last weekend, Junior Soldiers participated in an inter-company sports event🏅

The competition saw Junior Soldiers go head-to-head in various individual athletics events such as sprints, throwing, high-jump and much more. The competition also featured team events such as the 400m relay and tug-of-war🏃‍♂️

Sports sit at the heart of life in British Army. Its benefits are two-fold, by encouraging healthy, physical exercise and by upholding our ethos of team-work and sportsmanship. Personnel within the British Army are encouraged to participate in the wide variety of sports on offer, across all different levels of ability 💪

🛘Going Underground 🛘

Junior Soldiers from Cambrai Company recently conducted a Type 1 Adventurous Training package in the Yorkshire Dales as part of their Multi Activity Week with the Resilience & Leadership Wing.

Delivered through the ALeRT scheme, the caving activity tested physical and mental resilience in a demanding environment, developing effective coping strategies, teamwork, leadership, and decision-making under pressure. The exercise reinforced the Army’s Core Values and Standards while building the confidence and resilience required of future soldiers.

As we prepare for our Graduation Parade, our Junior Soldiers are busy getting ready for one of the proudest moments of their training.

From hours of drill practice to polishing parade shoes until they shine and ensuring every detail of their uniform is just right, the excitement is certainly building as we move closer to August.

Across the College, some of our Companies are also completing their final exercises, putting into practice the military skills they’ve developed throughout their initial training.

We’re excited to announce a virtual event taking place on Thursday 23rd July 6pm – 7pm, created especially for you.

This session will give you a clear understanding of your Junior Soldiers Army journey — including what to expect at each stage, what’s coming next, and how you can best support them along the way.

You’ll also have the chance to ask questions directly to a panel of experienced Recruiters, helping you feel confident and informed as your child prepares for a career as a Junior Soldier.

Thank you to everyone who attended our Open Day weekend. It was a highly successful event, and we hope you enjoyed learning more about life at the Army Foundation College.

We are especially proud of our Junior Soldiers who supported the event by speaking with prospective Junior Soldiers and their families. Their confidence, professionalism and willingness to share their experiences reflected just how far they have progressed since arriving at the College.

Thank you for making the weekend such a success.
