It was great to welcome our new local Police Inspector to our Harrogate & Knaresborough Area Committee meeting yesterday, where we discussed a range of issues affecting residents across our communities.
One of the key messages from the meeting was the importance of information from local people.
A single report or piece of information may seem insignificant on its own, but when combined with information from others, it can help build a much bigger intelligence picture. This can identify patterns, support investigations, and help North Yorkshire Police target resources where they are most needed.
If you ever need to contact North Yorkshire Police, there are several ways to do so depending on the situation:
π¨ In an emergency, always call 999 if there is an immediate danger to life, a crime is in progress, or the offender is still at the scene.
π For non-emergencies, call 101 to report a crime, share information, or speak with the police.
π» Online reporting is available through the North Yorkshire Police website for non-urgent crimes and incidents - https://www.northyorkshire.police.uk
π¬ You can also use the Live Chat service on the North Yorkshire Police homepage for advice and non-urgent enquiries.
π If you would prefer to remain anonymous, you can contact Crimestoppers online or call 0800 555 111 to report suspicious activity or information about crime.
By reporting concerns, no matter how small they may seem, residents can play a vital role in helping to keep our communities safe. Working together, we can help ensure that the police have the information they need to tackle issues effectively across Knaresborough and the surrounding area.
