So that's it. Boarglar Bill has removed his mask, been double jabbed and has hopped on a plane to his private island with all his friends never to return (unless he receives a particularly good offer).

It's been fun but a huge amount of work and after 21 years we've decided we're done. Thank you everyone who bought a competition sheet, shared a FB post, sold sheets, made a scarecrow, baked a cake, helped out in the cafe, gave a donation, gave a prize, zipped lined their teddy from the tower, gave us a donation... you are all wonderful and we couldn't have done it for so long without you.

This years winners are as follows:
Castle Tour voucher - L & R, Harrogate
Hutchinsons Butchers voucher - S Hobson, Knaresborough
Boars Head voucher - K Regan, Thorne
Icecream voucher - E & M, Harrogate

Thank you once again.
Boarglar Bill & The Scarecrow Team.

It is your last ever chance to see the awesome Ripley Scarecrows today. It might not be the brightest of days but it’s still a great day to hunt Boarglar Bill and his friends. Please come and support us by buying a trail sheet. It’s only £4 and it goes a long way to helping us repair our church.

We currently have a bill of over £15,000 to fix our beautiful (but sagging) stained glass windows, we have a leaking roof over the church organ and in July one of our stunning copper beech trees cracked in half and has to be taken down (at a cost of over £2,000). Old buildings take a lot of upkeep and very penny counts so if you’re coming to ‘just look’ maybe find it in your heart to buy a sheet? It’s much more fun as you will gain an insight as to what each scarecrow actually is and you might win a prize!

We also have ‘soak the vicar’ at 12 and 3pm today. Reverend Paul will be reading bible stories and when he mentions water you get to soak him with water pistols and it’s totally free!!!

Looking forward to seeing you all.

Where is everyone?!? It’s a glorious day and perfect for hunting scarecrows and stopping off for an icecream or cup of tea and a slice of cake. Don’t be put off by the thought it might be busy and don’t be fooled by the bright lights and music of the fun fair at the food festival - hunting scarecrows is way more fun and much much cheaper!!!

Hi everyone. If you haven’t seen the previous post this is Karen who organises the Scarecrow Festival and she could really do with your support. The church has lost over £11,000 this year in fundraising due to Covid and Karen is cycling from coast to coast to raise some much needed funds for church and the Robert Ogden cancer centre in Harrogate . If you have ever stopped in at the church cafe or spent a few hours hunting for scarecrows please use the link below to donate. We appreciate lots of people are struggling due to Covid but if you could spare £3 (the price of a competion sheet or a slice of cake and cup of tea) we would really appreciate it. Many thanks. X

Weʼre raising money to split between the Robert Ogden Cancer Unit, Harrogate Hospital and All Saints Church Ripley.. Support this JustGiving Crowdfunding Page.
