We’re proud to serve our community as your first tier of local government—looking to work closely with residents, local groups and principal authorities across our town. We’re delighted to use this space to keep our community informed, engaged and connected with the work of your Town Council which was newly created in April 2025. Our social media platforms are used to:
➧Share agendas, minutes, and
upcoming meeting dates.
➧Promote local events, activities, and good news stories.
➧Advertise job vacancies within the Council.
➧Announce new information relevant to our town.
➧Share public consultations and gather informal community views.
➧Retweet or share updates from trusted partners like the Police, Principal Authorities, Library Services, and NHS.
➧Support Town Council-related community groups, schools, sports clubs, and local charities.
➧Distribute any other information that may be useful or of interest to residents. We’re unable to process:
➧Freedom of Information (FOI) requests.
➧Formal complaints.
➧Planning representations or legal correspondence. Our channels are intermittently monitored Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, excluding public holidays. We welcome respectful interaction, but please note that we do not usually respond to replies, comments or direct messages. In most cases, it will be better to contact the council via its formal channels to raise issues or concerns. As proud signatories of the Civility and Respect Pledge, we are committed to respectful dialogue and professional conduct. We will treat all individuals with courtesy—and we expect the same in return. Comments that are inappropriate or offensive will be removed in line with our moderation policy. For official enquiries, please contact us by emailing [email protected] or calling 01423 642542. Thank you for following Harrogate Town Council!
