We have been made aware of fires in Bentley Priory caused by barbeques.

BBQs are not allowed in any Harrow parks under the Public Spaces Protection Order and carries fines.

No one wants to see our green spaces destroyed. With dry grass fires could spread devastating areas of the park, wildlife and cause significant risk to public.

If you're visiting our parks, please take some precaution. You may have seen on the news this week - we’re advising people to avoid sitting or congregating under large trees in parks.

There have been some Sudden Branch Drop incidents in the borough during the June heatwave. This is when tree branches break off and fall to the ground unexpectedly. There isn’t a known cause for this but typically occurs during warm weather - heatwaves and changes in tree moisture levels are considered a possible factor.

We have started to carry out additional inspections of trees. If you notice this at our parks or on the street, report it online.

We're going to give some of our parks some TLC. In January, you may see some sections of 6 of our parks barriered off to allow works, including path resurfacing and footpath reconstruction

We love hearing from you about the incredible work from individuals in our community! Thanks Steve for letting us know about the driving force that is Eugene who has been making such a positive impact with Friends of Kenton Rec at Kenton Recreation Ground. Thank you Eugene!

You can help us - and them to do even more next year by adding your own thank you!

In the foreground there is a transparent petrol blue box with text that says: Dear Eugene Cullinan, you have been the driving force behind much of the many positive activities that have made Kenton Recreation Ground such a popular Green Flag Park. Thank you for all your efforts, Eugene. Steve Whitbread, Harrow Biodiversity Officer. Thank you!]

Everyone We have managed to procure 4500 bulbs to plant. We are having a bulb planting day on 10/12/2023 at 11.30. This is a community event so let the other park users know and it goes without saying you and your familìs are all welcome. Just let people know they need appropriate footwear and clothing. Thank you and have a good day

We have issued a Flood Alert. Heavy rain is forecast to affect London throughout Saturday 5 August. It is currently unclear which areas will experience the heaviest rain.

If the heaviest rain affects the Harrow or Hillingdon areas there is the possibility that rivers could overtop their banks. Flooding to low lying land, roads and riverside gardens is possible from Saturday morning. Flooding from surface water, where water gathers and flows off road surfaces, could also occur.

We expect river levels to respond by rising quickly in areas receiving the heaviest rain. We recommend you stay aware of local weather conditions and water levels. Consider putting your flood plan into action. You should avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water.

We expect the band of rain to move out of the area on Saturday evening, scattered showers are forecast for Sunday. We are constantly monitoring rainfall and river levels and are checking rivers for blockages.

We will update this message on Saturday afternoon or earlier if the situation changes.

Flood alert area: The Yeading Brooks East and West at Ruislip and Harrow.
