Hartlepool Headland Conservation Management Plan

This plan has implications for what type of materials, windows and doors you will be allowed to use on your home within the Headland Conservation area!

The Plan is referred to an Extraordinary meeting of the Full Council on Thursday 28 November 2024 at 7pm in the Council Chamber at the Civic Centre.

Your support is needed at the meeting to overturn the current approved status.

It is recommended that the Plan is further developed by a new Conservation Advisory Group, which will include residents! Together we can produce a plan that meets the aims of Hartlepool Council and works for residents.

A name plate has been purposely removed from Red Heugh Gardens so that the name of a local soldier from WWI can be added.

We look forward to seeing the soldier remembered correctly as he always should have been.

We are now aware of a decision taken by Hartlepool Borough Council to stop providing lifeguard cover on the Fish Sands and Block Sands and are working as a Parish Council with Borough Councillors to hopefully have this decision reversed as we view the safety on our beaches as a top priority for the people of the Headland.

At this stage there has been no indication that this will stop the paddling pool being filled during the summer but appreciate that the refusal to fill it earlier in the past due to no lifeguard cover seems somewhat of a contradiction now.

If you would like to voice your concerns and support the move to have this service reinstated you can email [email protected] and ask for your email to be forwarded to all Borough Councillors.
Please be respectful in any correspondence.

We’ll keep you updated.
