REMINDER
✨ Year 5 and 6 Secondary School Transition Workshop for Parents/Carers
Is your child preparing to move up to secondary school this September or next September? Does your child have additional needs? This can be an exciting—but sometimes challenging—time for both children and parents/carers. Join us for a supportive and informative workshop designed especially for Year 5 and 6 parents/carers.
📅 Workshop Details
Date: Thursday 18th June
Time: 9-10am
Location: KS1 Hall
🌟 What the Workshop Covers
What to expect in the move from primary to secondary school
Common worries and how to support your child through them
Building independence, confidence, and organisation skills
Understanding changes in routines, homework, and expectations
Practical tips for a smooth and successful transition
💬 Why Attend?
Gain valuable insights from Theresa Eastaugh (advisory teacher with the Communication and Interaction Team)
Ask questions and share concerns in a welcoming environment
Learn simple strategies to help your child feel confident and prepared
Connect with other parents/carers going through the same transition
👨‍👩‍👧 Who Should Attend?
All Year 5/6 parents and carers who would like guidance and reassurance ahead of the move to secondary school are welcome. This workshop is particularly targeted at families of children who have additional needs or who may find the transition to secondary school challenging. Your child does not have to have an official diagnosis for you to attend.

This week the Butterflies 🦋🦋🦋letter sound is ‘i.’ 🪳We have loved reading the stories and listening to the songs, “Noah’s Ark” and “The Animals went in Two by Two.”🦛🦘🦁🐒🐝Some of the children have cut their own animals out for their ark.✂️The Butterflies 🦋🦋🦋have been learning the verbs speak, talk, whisper, shout, scream and sing. 🗣️🎤 We have loved exploring and creating colours using paint. 🖌️🎨 🤲The Butterflies 🦋🦋🦋painted their hands 🙌 in two different colours 🌈they rubbed them together to see what different colours they could create. In PSHE, we all gave Jenie Jigsaw 🧩 a cuddle and told her our names. Then we all told her the name of an animal that went into the ark.🐝🦒🐫🐒🦁🦘🦛In Music,🎵 the Butterflies 🦋🦋🦋 have been singing our favourite songs from our rhyme bag.💼 Dancing and joining in with ring games. 🎤🕺🏿💃⭕️It has been another extremely busy and exciting week!☺️
