What is Shopmobility? Shopmobility is a scheme that hires scooters and wheelchairs to enable those with limited mobility to use the facilities in central Hartlepool . It is for anyone, whatever age, with limited mobility, short or long-term. Shopmobility is a Registered Charity and a project of Hartlepool Access Group which is sponsored by Hartlepool Borough Council as well

as local businesses, industry, trusts and other charities. Their generosity is much appreciated, as are our volunteers, without whom the scheme could not operate. Shopmobility is now well established in hundreds of towns and cities across the country. If you are travelling further-a-field and think you may need the same assistance as you require in Hartlepool , then ask at our Reception for information. What equipment is available? We have walking sticks, walkers, crutches, three and four wheeled scooters, manual wheelchairs and electric wheelchairs. Booking Equipment

Booking is advisable to avoid disappointment. You can book by calling into Shopmobility or by telephone us on 01429 861777. Please do not leave bookings on the voicemail, but if you leave your name and telephone number we will return your call as soon as we can to you to confirm availability and take your booking. Car Parking

Limited Free parking may be reserved in the car park behind the Shopmobility office. Equipment can be brought to your car if required. How do I Join? Simply call into Shopmobility and complete a registration form to join our membership scheme. You will be asked to produce two forms of identification, e.g. Passport, driving licence, utility bill and two passport size photographs. Membership

You will be issued with a membership card. There is an hourly fee of £2.00 for manual wheelchairs, Scooters and powerchairs. Please ask for details. Training

When you have registered, we will advise you which is the most suitable vehicle for your needs. We will provide training until we are happy that you are in control and you are confident using the equipment. Long Term Hire

Manual wheelchairs for overnight and holiday hire at a cost of £5.00 per day, £20.00 for the first week then only £10.00 per week after. Joining Fee

The joining fee is a 1 off payment of £10.00, no annual fee charge.

We have some of the cheapest pricing in the North East. £2 an hour around town for Scooters, Wheelchairs and Powerchairs. Long Term hire Wheelchairs - £5 a night or £20 for the 1st week then just £10 a week thereafter . Scooters - £10 a night or £50 a week with £75 deposit. Open Mon/Tue-Thur/Fri 9.30 - 4pm.

Shopmobility would like to ask if you have any Mobility Equipment/accessories/items, (such as Walkers, Zimmer frames and Walking sticks), you don't want or need anymore to donate it to the shop please.
