Earlier today, PCSO Devonport teamed up with Councillor Ronnie Buglass for a "Ward Walkabout" in the Manor House area, chatting with residents and local businesses to hear first‑hand about the issues that matter most in the community.

From doorstep conversations to shop visits, it was a great opportunity to listen, engage and understand the concerns affecting the area and help shape future patrols and priorities.

👮 Policing in the heart of your neighbourhood 🚓 Foggy Furze – Vehicle Seized

On Tuesday 2 June, PC Roberts‑Garland, the ward officer for Foggy Furze, stopped a vehicle whilst on mobile patrol.
Checks revealed the driver only held a provisional licence, with no ‘L’ plates displayed, and was being supervised by another provisional licence holder, meaning the vehicle was being driven unlawfully.
As a result, the vehicle was seized, and the driver has been reported for summons for driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence and no insurance.

We will continue to carry out proactive patrols and take action against those putting themselves and others at risk on our roads.

If you have concerns about driving offences in your area, please report them via 101 or online at www.cleveland.police.uk.

Policing in the heart of your neighbourhood👮‍♀️💙

PCSO Pauline Duffield visited a community event at St Hilda's church on the Headland celebrating two well-known historical characters from Old Hartlepool.

'Fish Annie' sold fish from a pram around the streets of the Headland in the 1930s, and is still celebrated today in history trails and arts projects with her original pram on display at the Museum of Hartlepool. 🐟

The other is Billy Purvis, a nineteenth century entertainer, known as the 'clown of the north'. He toured and performed across the north east until he died in 1853, and was buried in St Hilda's cemetery. 🪦

PCSO Duffield said: "This event was great fun, and it was lovely to chat to everyone. The heritage of The Headland is extremely important to everyone who lives there. It's a fabulous place, steeped in history and quirkiness which makes everyone who they are today. I love representing this area, the people are wonderful."
