Unfortunately, the next Ore Community Library Book Club coffee morning has had to be cancelled. The next meeting will be on Wednesday 27th May at 10:00 in the library. That gives anyone who would like to come along to the book club meetings a whole extra month to read the book of the month! :-) Free to library members and non-members.

Our book club will be meeting again at 10:00 on Wednesday 29th April. All welcome. Open to library members and non-members alike. This month we are reading The Book of Fire by Christy Lefteri. Why not come along and join in. Teas and coffees are available. You can help to choose the book to be read over the following month. The meetings last about one hour and usually finish up with each member reading a favourite poem, if they wish.

Join local author Ed Boxall at Ore Community Library for the first ‘official’ performance of his new story ‘The Giants of Green Summer’! There will be moving, singing, booing, hissing, cheering, heroic giants, a villainous witch, and the triumphant return of Summer! Suitable for all ages😊.

Coming to Ore Community Library on 5th March 2026.
Roly Poly is a sensory musical show for under-twos and their caregivers; a warm, responsive environment for very young children and their adults to explore and enjoy together. Each 40-minute show is followed by relaxed time to chat and continue playing in the calm, welcoming and imaginative cardboard world.

Audiences describe the show as relaxing, mesmerising, and very child-led. “Amazing! I can’t believe a 7 month old was so engaged – best thing we’ve done”

Please note this event is for babies and toddlers under 24 months only, older children are not able to join.

Audiences often ask about the age range. Roly Poly is for babies and toddlers under 24 months old; we will not be able to admit older children as this makes it much less accessible for babies.

There are two shows per day, at 10.30 - 12 and 13.30 - 15.00.

Please be aware that the library will not be available for normal services on this day.

Our last normal opening in 2025 will be the morning of Saturday 20th December. At 1pm that day we will be holding our AGM, to which you are all invited.
We reopen as normal on Tuesday 6th January 2026.
We wish all our members and the community a very happy Christmas and New Year.
