Cygnets and Ducklings had a wonderful time at Blackberry Farm on Wednesday. Although a little damp, we made the most of it and saw so many fantastic animals, we stroked them, fed them and watched them roam around their enclosures as we drove past on the tractor!

We ate our lunch and had a super time in the indoor soft play area before heading home on the coach (where lots of us fell asleep!๐Ÿ˜)

This term, Puffins will be reading the book "We're Going On A Treasure Hunt", watch this space over the next few weeks for some lovely photos of our puffins carrying out lots of different pirate activities.

We are also practicing our fine motor skills using tweezers and pom-poms and colouring in between the lines, These activities will help us to hold pens and write our names.

This Week in Kingfishers

The children took part in a special art project at Amici Studio.

They began by learning about Hag Stones and exploring the beach to find two special stones that caught their attention.

In the studio, the children used their stones to create marks and patterns on paper, discovering the interesting shapes and textures they could make. The children then enjoyed exploring an interactive sound sculpture, listening carefully to the different sounds created when Hag Stones were moved along piano wires.

To finish, each child carefully placed their chosen stones onto a large sheet of special photosensitive paper, which will slowly change as it is exposed to light over the coming week.

The children showed fantastic creativity, curiosity and listening skills throughout the experience. We look forward to seeing the finished artwork, which can be viewed at Amici Studios on Saturday 6 July, 12โ€“4pm!

Yesterday afternoon we were invited to a special Athletics event at Ark Alexandra.

The event had 6 high performing sporting schools participating from The Hastings & Rother area. Our wonderful team demonstrated excellent teamwork and determination to succeed.

Our team secured an amazing๐Ÿฅˆ2nd place๐Ÿฅˆfinish yet again, showing not only how far weโ€™ve come in sports over the last 2 years but also how exciting the future of sports in the school is!

Also a special mention to Isaiah who finished as the NO.1 overall boy at the event and threw the howler a brilliant 30 meters in distance!

We are delighted to share some additional photographs from JB Gillโ€™s recent visit to Mulberry Baird Primary.

The images, captured by The Sun, provide a wonderful snapshot of a memorable day for our students and staff, during which we celebrated our Free Fruit and Veg Programme, learned about healthy eating, and recognised the dedication of all the teachers who support the wellbeing of our students every day.๐Ÿ’š

We are grateful for the opportunity to showcase the fantastic learning experiences and opportunities taking place across our school.

Thank you once again to everyone who helped make the visit such a success.

It was lovely to see the Swifts walk through the door on Monday morning and they have had a brain-expanding start to Term 6.

Our Year 2s have been working on some in-house assessment papers with an attitude and effort that is a credit to them. Normal timetabling resumes for them next week.

Our Year 1s have been hyper-focused on the final push ahead of their national phonics screening this week!

This week's photo is of the Year 2s who have been working on a poetry unit on rainbow colours in their Talk for Writing classes this week!

๐ŸŽจ Skylarks Art Fun! ๐ŸŒˆ

This week, Skylarks had a wonderful time in Art learning all about primary colours and how to mix them to create secondary colours. The children enjoyed experimenting with red, blue and yellow paints and were delighted to discover the new colours they could make!

There was lots of excitement as they mixed colours, made predictions and shared their discoveries with their friends. It was lovely to see their creativity and enthusiasm throughout the lesson.

We've attached some photos for you to enjoy and see the children busy exploring and creating. ๐Ÿ“ธ

Well done, Skylarks! ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŽจ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’™โค๏ธ
