🌈 Happy Pride Month!

Pride is more than a celebration—it's a recognition of the ongoing journey toward equality, visibility, and acceptance for Le***an, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Q***r, and other gender and sexual minority (LGBTQ+) individuals.

Pride traces its roots to the 1969 Stonewall Uprising in New York City, a pivotal moment that helped spark the modern LGBTQ+ rights movement. Since then, Pride has become both a celebration of identity and a reminder of the progress achieved and the work that remains.

This month, we honour the courage of those who advocated for change, celebrate the diversity and resilience of the LGBTQ+ community, and reaffirm our commitment to fostering a world where everyone is treated with dignity, respect, and equal opportunity.

Happy Pride Month. 🌈❤️

A note from Councillor Phil Munday

Proud to welcome Councillor Gillian Harris, the new Leader of Havant Borough Council

When I became Leader of Havant Borough Council in May 2024, I was extremely proud to take on the responsibility. After yesterday’s Annual Council Meeting, I am stepping back and proposed Councillor Gillian Harris to become the new Leader from today.

So, I just wanted to say how much I have enjoyed being Leader, serving the residents of Havant. Representing your views and supporting residents in their individual issues is a vital role for us on the Council as well as what we do to promote and develop every part of Havant.

Thank you for the opportunity and support. I wish Councillor Harris every success as the new Leader and am looking forward to playing my part as a member of her cabinet.

❤️ This week is Mental Health Awareness Week. ❤️

Mental health matters just as much as physical health, yet too many people still struggle in silence. No one should feel afraid to ask for help or feel alone with what they are going through.

There are also small steps that can help improve mental wellbeing, including:

❤️ Talking openly with someone you trust
❤️ Taking time away from stress and social media
❤️ Getting outside and staying active
❤️ Keeping connected with friends, family, and community groups
❤️ Making time for rest, hobbies, and self-care
❤️ Reaching out for professional support when needed

Even small acts of support and kindness can make a big difference.

Let’s continue working towards a community where mental health is treated with understanding, compassion, and openness.

Whether you voted, volunteered, delivered leaflets, knocked on doors, shared posts, or simply spoke to neighbours and friends about the issues facing our community, your support means a great deal.

We also want to give a special thank you to Simon Hagan and Peter Oliver for their dedicated service to the community during their time as councillors. Their hard work, commitment, and support for local residents have made a real difference during their term as councillors.
