Unfortunately we were unsuccessful with our bid for National Lottery Community Funding to help end homelessness in Pembrokeshire and also create the first foyer in the County. We’d like to congratulate the successful applicants, Wallich Clifford and Llamau and you can read more of their exciting plans here:

https://www.tnlcommunityfund.org.uk/news/press-releases/2022-02-04/partnerships-celebrate-over-8-3-million-of-national-lottery-funding-to-work-together-to-help-end-homelessness-in-wales

However all is not lost! We have been advised that further funding of £3 million will be made available by the NL in the Spring 2022 to help alleviate rural homelessness in Wales. We’ve had some very positive feedback following our bid and we will continue working with our partners and hopefully our bid to get a share of this money for Pembrokeshire will be successful.

PATH, as the lead partner in the Pembrokeshire Homeless Partnership, has recently submitted an application for substantial, long-term funding from the National Lottery Community Fund. We will find out whether we are successful or not towards the end of 2021 and, should the plan be acceptable to The National Lottery Community Fund, it will start in 2022!

Yn ddiweddar, mae PATH, fel y prif bartner ym Mhartneriaeth Ddigartrefedd Sir Benfro, wedi cyflwyno cais am gyllid sylweddol, hirdymor o Gronfa Gymunedol y Loteri Genedlaethol. Byddwn yn cael gwybod os ydym wedi bod yn llwyddiannus ai peidio tua diwedd 2021 ac, os bydd y cynllun yn dderbyniol i Gronfa Gymunedol y Loteri Genedlaethol, bydd yn dechrau yn 2022!

Why is the Foyer Project needed in Pembs? Homelessness may not be as visible in Pembrokeshire as in more urban areas, but it’s an issue here too – 483 young people presented as homeless in our county last year, and 1,410 people approached PATH for help with issues relating to homelessness. One of the main issues is a lack of accommodation to offer people facing homelessness, but there is also a need for person-centred, wrap-around services to help prevent homelessness occurring again and break the cycles that lead to this.

Pam fod angen Prosiect Foyer yn Sir Benfro? Efallai nad yw digartrefedd mor weladwy yn Sir Benfro o gymharu ag ardaloedd mwy trefol, ond mae'n broblem yma hefyd - cyflwynodd 483 o bobl ifanc yn ddigartref yn ein sir y llynedd, a daeth 1,410 o bobl at PATH i gael help gyda phroblemau’n ymwneud â digartrefedd. Un o'r prif broblemau yw diffyg llety i'w gynnig i bobl sy'n wynebu digartrefedd, ond mae hefyd angen gwasanaethau cofleidiol sy'n canolbwyntio ar yr unigolyn i helpu i atal digartrefedd rhag digwydd eto a thorri'r cylchoedd sy'n arwain at hyn.

How did we come up with the idea for a Foyer in Pembs? We did our research! We asked local people and those with experience of homelessness what they thought, and we worked closely with Pembrokeshire County Council to see what exactly was needed in our county. Then we looked at other successful projects up and down the UK, and consulted with them on what had worked well and what hadn’t.

Sut wnaethon ni feddwl am y syniad ar gyfer Foyer yn Sir Benfro? Gwnaethom ein hymchwil! Fe wnaethon ni ofyn i bobl leol a'r rhai sydd â phrofiad o ddigartrefedd beth oedden nhw'n ei feddwl, a gweithio'n agos gyda CSP i weld beth yn union oedd ei angen yn ein sir. Yna buom yn edrych ar brosiectau llwyddiannus eraill ledled y DU, ac ymgynghori â nhw ar yr hyn a aeth yn dda a'r hyn na aeth cystal.

You might be wondering, what exactly is a ‘Foyer’? Well, first and foremost it’s safe and secure accommodation for young people at risk of homelessness - but it’s a lot more than that! Our foyer project intends to provide a whole host of other things too – advice, support, counselling, mediation and skills training – tailored to the needs of each individual resident.

Efallai eich bod chi'n pendroni, beth yn union yw 'Foyer'? Wel, yn gyntaf oll, mae'n llety diogel ar gyfer pobl ifanc sydd mewn perygl o fod yn ddigartref - ond mae'n llawer mwy na hynny! Mae ein prosiect foyer yn bwriadu darparu llwyth o bethau eraill hefyd - cyngor, cefnogaeth, cwnsela, cyfryngu a hyfforddiant sgiliau - wedi'i deilwra ar gyfer anghenion pob preswylydd unigol.

People in Pembrokeshire can experience homelessness for many reasons, but like this client, the most common cause since the pandemic is relationship breakdown. With PATH’s proposed Foyer Project, we will work to help more people in our county who are facing homelessness, providing them with temporary accommodation, as well as the confidence and skills they need to get back on their feet.

Gall pobl yn Sir Benfro brofi digartrefedd am lawer o resymau, ond fel y cleient hwn, yr achos mwyaf cyffredin ers y pandemig yw chwalu perthynas. Gyda’n Prosiect Foyer arfaethedig, byddwn yn gweithio i helpu mwy o bobl yn ein sir sy’n wynebu digartrefedd, gan ddarparu llety diogel iddynt, yn ogystal â'r hyder a’r sgiliau sydd eu hangen arnynt i fynd yn ôl ar eu traed.

The Pembs Foyer Project has some really great organisations on board to help us with our mission to prevent young people becoming homeless in our county. PACTO, or Pembrokeshire Association of Community Transport Organisations (http://www.pacto.org.uk/) help people and groups who don't have access to their own transport and who don't have or can't use conventional public transport services. We are looking forward to working with them to help provide transport for young people who need our help but are in harder to reach areas.

Mae’r Pembrokeshire Foyer Project yn cydweithio â rhai sefydliadau gwirioneddol wych i'n helpu gyda'n cenhadaeth i atal pobl ifanc rhag dod yn ddigartref yn ein sir. Mae PACTO, neu Gymdeithas Mudiadau Cludiant Cymunedol Sir Benfro, yn helpu pobl a grwpiau nad oes ganddynt fynediad at eu cludiant eu hunain ac nad oes ganddynt neu na allant ddefnyddio gwasanaeth trafnidiaeth gyhoeddus gonfensiynol. Rydym yn edrych ymlaen at weithio gyda nhw i helpu i ddarparu cludiant ar gyfer pobl ifanc sydd angen ein help ond sydd mewn ardaloedd anoddach eu cyrraedd.

Being a parent is hard. There are no two ways about it. None of us really knows that what we are doing is right or wrong as life doesn’t come with instructions. All we can do is what we feel is the right way to deal with situations. However whilst we are doing all we can for our children, who’s looking out for us?

Our peer support is also open to parents, as sometimes it’s nice to just have a shoulder to cry on or a non-judgemental ear to listen whilst we put the world to rights. Someone to just be there for us, while we are there for others. Please if you feel like you could do with a little support, get in touch 🥰💚

When someone is experiencing homelessness, they often become vulnerable to other types of trauma too. With PATH’s proposed Foyer Project, we will work to help more people in our county who are facing homelessness, providing them with safe and secure accommodation, as well as the confidence and skills they need to get back on their feet.

Pan fydd rhywun yn profi digartrefedd, gallant ddod yn agored i fathau eraill o drawma. Gyda’n Prosiect Foyer arfaethedig, byddwn yn gweithio i helpu mwy o bobl yn ein sir sy’n wynebu digartrefedd, gan ddarparu llety diogel iddynt, yn ogystal â'r hyder a’r sgiliau sydd eu hangen arnynt i fynd yn ôl ar eu traed.
