Behind every successful project is a team that understands what it takes to deliver.

For complex developments, achieving the right fire safety solution requires more than a certified product. It takes early collaboration, technical knowledge and close coordination between partners.

Working alongside Schüco, we supported the delivery of the fire-rated façade solution for Belfast Grand Central Station — helping overcome the challenges of a landmark project while ensuring performance, compliance and design ambition were achieved.

A great example of what’s possible when expertise and collaboration come together.

With the move towards BS EN 13501-2 approaching, fire door manufacturers need to review existing products, testing strategies and certification requirements to ensure they are ready for the changes ahead.

Redeveloping historic buildings often means balancing preservation with the demands of modern safety standards.

The transformation of the TX Building at Strijp-T in Eindhoven is a great example of how those two objectives can work together. Once part of the Philips industrial complex, the building has been reimagined as a modern workspace while retaining the character that makes it so distinctive.

Working alongside Glasdesignnl , we supplied more than 2,000 m² of fire safety glazing to help create open, light-filled interiors while providing the required fire protection throughout the building.

It’s a project that demonstrates how fire safety can support architectural ambition without compromise.

The move to European Standards brings a more rigorous framework for fire door compliance.

While greater standardisation will provide a more consistent approach to fire performance, it also presents new challenges for manufacturers. Products that have previously passed under BS 476-22 may not achieve the same results when tested under the EN 1634-1 regime, meaning existing designs may need to be reviewed, retested or adapted.

For fire door systems, compliance depends on the performance of the complete assembly — including the door leaf, frame, seals, glazing and ironmongery — all working together as one tested solution.

At Pyroguard, we are already testing our fire safety glazing solutions to European Standards, supporting manufacturers as they prepare for the transition and helping to reduce the risk of costly redesigns, retesting and delays.
