Started in 1973 by Mike and Audrey Reynolds, it is still run by their son Nick, daughter Alison and her husband Ray, plus Curator David Woolcock, Head Gardener Mike Kemp, Retail Manager Lynn Jones and many others. It is home to the World Parrot Trust and Operation Chough.

On good weather days Zebedee, the Jungle Express Train, will be out for a spin! 🚂

Board the train near the picnic lawn and set off through the gardens of Glanmor House on a small route of two circuits around the house grounds (not the whole Park). Includes the top section of Parrot Jungle, a trip through a tunnel with Twinkly lights leading to behind the scenes at the back of the house.

Zebedee, as he is called, was previously at Longleat. He was built in 1938 by Lister of Dursley in Gloucestershire. He pulls two specially designed open carriages which were rebuilt in 2008. The track is 15 inch gauge, is circular and about 750 foot (230m) long.

For train times please check when you arrive. There is a small extra charge.

Just like our amazing male flamingos currently sharing incubating duties with the females. While parenting styles varied across species, many dinosaurs were surprisingly caring, making them the ultimate prehistoric role models!

Tucked away in a beautiful corner of Paradise Park, the Bee and Butterfly Garden is a fascinating place to pause and spot native wildlife. Planted with mostly native and North American hardy annuals, it hums with life through the seasons, while even the dandelions are welcomed here for the valuable early nectar they provide. Honeysuckles climb gracefully over the old granite archways by the miniature railway, offering a rich source of food for visiting bees. Nearby, information panels help you discover and identify the many species of native bees that make this enchanting garden their home.

We are delighted to share this heart-melting little clip of a very special moment as Paloma and Pedro’s first penguin chick begins to hatch. A couple of days later, their second tiny chick arrived too, and they are now 5 and 3 days old and doing well. It’s still very early days, so we’re keeping everything crossed for these precious little ones.

There’s also another adorable chick from a different pair, now around 2 months old, and it should be peeking out from its nest hut sometime in the next week or so. 🐧❤️
