National Grid Electricity Distribution (NGED) has ๐ฅ๐๐ฎ๐ง๐๐ก๐๐ ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐ฅ๐๐ญ๐๐ฌ๐ญ ๐ซ๐จ๐ฎ๐ง๐ ๐จ๐ ๐ข๐ญ๐ฌ ๐๐จ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐ง๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ ๐๐๐ญ๐ญ๐๐ซ๐ฌ ๐
๐ฎ๐ง๐, focused this summer on improving access to green spaces and enhancing biodiversity.
This funding round, delivered in partnership with Localgiving, will provide ยฃ250,000 in grants to grassroots charities and community groups working to protect, improve and create green spaces for their local communities. The fund is designed to support projects that boost wellbeing, strengthen community connections and enhance the natural environment.
Organisations can apply for grants to support projects that:
ยท Create or improve parks, gardens, open spaces, raised flowerbeds or living walls in public areas
ยท Improve accessibility to green spaces, including paths, ramps or seating
ยท Enhance biodiversity through activities such as planting trees, hedges or wildflowers, or creating habitats such as bee hives or bird and bat boxes
The fund particularly welcomes applications from organisations supporting underserved or vulnerable groups to overcome barriers to accessing and benefiting from green spaces.
Registered charities or non-profit companies limited by guarantee can apply for grants of up to ยฃ5,000, while constituted community groups without a charity number can apply for grants of up to ยฃ2,000. Eligible organisations must be based in the Midlands, South West England or South Wales.
