On Saturday 8th August, our operational crew will be visiting Ardingly Activity Centre from 1000-1400. Join us to explore our vehicle, meet the crew, and discuss Wildfire and Water Safety initiatives,

We'll also be providing information on becoming a WSFRS Wildfire Patroller, perfect for those who frequent the countryside or enjoy activities like walking their dog.

We can't thank people enough for coming down & supporting us, our amazing stall holders, the police & their cadets, all the helpers & volunteers & the the fire crews that made this happen! And a big shout out to My Choice Children's Homes for all their hard work & help organising it & making sure it all went smoothly on the day. You're all superstars 🌟

Whenever you are around water:

❗Stop and think – take time to assess your surroundings. Look for the dangers and always research local signs and advice.

👥 Stay together – stick with friends or family when around water. Swim at a lifeguarded venue.

This Saturday, the Haywards Heath crew will be visiting the Roost coffee shop at Goddenwick Farm, Lindfield from 1000-1200!

Come along, bring the kids and have a chat with our crew and a look around the fire engine! (yes, you can sit in it!)

We’ll primarily be raising awareness around outdoor fires in this current weather we’re having, but we love engaging with our community about anything fire and rescue!

So come and see us, ask us anything, and grab a fantastic coffee while you’re there!

🟠 An amber heat-health alert is now in effect until 9pm on Sunday. 🟠

The heatwave brings increased wildfire and water safety risks. Remember:

🔥 Leave disposable barbecues to cool completely before disposing of them safely
🚬 Fully extinguish ci******es
🌳 Keep barbecues well away from trees, shrubs, fences and sheds
🪞 Keep glass bottles, mirrors and other reflective objects out of direct sunlight
🍴 Choose a picnic instead of a barbecue where possible
📞 Moving to a place of safety and calling 999 immediately if a fire is discovered
🥂 Avoid entering the water after drinking alcohol or eating a large meal
🌊 If you experience the effects of cold-water shock, try to control your breathing and float on your back
