This week, we wrapped up our Summer Play Days!

We had so much fun in our parks and green spaces with free games, entertainment, sport activities, and more.

We’ve partnered with University of Sussex Careers and Entrepreneurship to deliver a summer Career Lab internship programme, a first for the council.

Designed to help bridge the gap between education and employment, the internship programme provides valuable opportunities to gain first-hand experience, develop practical skills, and explore future career pathways.

Today is our final Play Day of the summer! Come along to Batchelors Field, Bolney to check it out.

There’s plenty of free activities including golfing with JOLF.golf, circus skills with Circus All Stars, music and DJ workshops with Tons of Sound, creative painting, basketball, rugby, arts and crafts, and more.

All Play Days are free. There’s no need to book, just turn up and enjoy the fun from 2–4pm.

Please remember to bring water, a hat, and sun cream. ☀️

Have you responded to our Annual Electoral Canvass? 🤔

The Annual Canvass is a process we undertake every year to update the electoral register.

This week we are contacting properties that have not yet responded to our request to confirm their details on the electoral register.

Residents at these addresses will receive either a Canvass Form by post, or a request to confirm their details by e-mail or text message.

Please follow the instructions provided to respond. The deadline for response is 23 October 2026.

We’re setting up at Worlds End Rec, Burgess Hill for today’s summer Play Day.

There’s lots of free activities on the programme including golfing with JOLF.golf, circus skills with Circus All Stars, music and DJ workshops with Tons of Sound, creative painting, basketball, dancing, giant games, and more.

All Play Days are free. There’s no need to book, just turn up and enjoy the fun from 2–4pm.

Simpler Recycling is helping both the environment and the local economy. ♻️

The launch of 1, 2, 3 collections has created 36 new local jobs in Mid Sussex.

The service has also collected more than 3,000 tonnes of food waste from homes across the district.

Stories like Dan's, who joined the service ahead of launch and has since been promoted to a supervisor, show how the new service is creating opportunities for local people.
