Help us support Kangaroos!

Town Mayor, Cllr Duncan Pascoe, has chosen Kangaroos Mid Sussex as his charity for his second term of office. The local charity provides activities, opportunities and support for children and adults with learning disabilities.

Town Day is FREE to attend, but if you enjoy the day, please consider making a suggested £2 donation to Kangaroos. Donation buckets will be available at the Town Council gazebos throughout the day.

Kangaroos will also be hosting a Quiet Area at Town Day, providing a calm space for anyone who needs a break from the busy event atmosphere.

Come along, have fun and help us support a fantastic local charity!

Choose from TWO routes, both starting and finishing at the Town Hall, and discover fascinating stories and hidden history around Haywards Heath.

It's been a quieter month for the Mayor while everyone's been enjoying the summer holidays! But he's still been able to enjoy the opportunities to support local charities and businesses across the town:

Sat 1st – Kanga Trail Launch Event
The Mayor joined Kangaroos at Beech Hurst to launch this year's Kanga Trail in support of his Charity of the Year. He gave a speech, met families and got fully into the spirit of the day by wearing his very own kangaroo ears!

Fri 7th – Ashton House Nursing Home Summer BBQ
The Mayor attended the Ashton House Nursing Home Summer BBQ, spending time with residents, families and staff and enjoying a wonderful afternoon of summer fun and community.

Wed 12th – P&S Gallagher's Coffee Morning
The Mayor supported P&S Gallagher's fundraising coffee morning in aid of Parkinson's UK, enjoying coffee, homemade cakes and good company while helping to support a great cause.

Sat 15th – Party in the Car Park
The Mayor attended the Haywards Heath Social Club's Party in the Car Park, raising funds for Bentswood Hub. With live music, food, children's activities, a raffle and plenty of community spirit, it was a fantastic afternoon for a great cause.

A huge thank you to everyone who welcomed the Mayor this month, and to all the organisers, volunteers, businesses and charities who continue to bring our community together. We hope everyone is enjoying the summer!

Two Weeks to Go until Haywards Heath Town Day!

Join us at Victoria Park on Saturday 12th September, from 12pm–9pm, for a FREE day packed with family fun, live entertainment, local stalls, food and drink, activities and plenty more.

From face painting and circus skills to funfair rides, a miniature railway, classic vehicles, SkateFarm and a life-size T-Rex, there'll be something for everyone to enjoy. And as the sun goes down, get ready for an evening of fantastic live music!

Save the date, round up your friends and family, and get ready for a brilliant day in Victoria Park.

The Planning Committee will be meeting on Tuesday 1st September, at 7pm in the Council Chamber. The Town Council welcomes residents who wish to come along and speak on a specific planning application. If you wish to speak please inform the Town Hall by 12pm on the day of the Committee Meeting. Each speaker will be allowed 3 minutes to address the Committee.

This week's Business Boost is the Royal British Legion!

When we think of the Royal British Legion, many of us think of Remembrance and the annual Poppy Appeal. But the RBL is there for our Armed Forces community all year round.

The Royal British Legion provides lifelong support to serving and former members of the Armed Forces and their families, helping people from generations of service, from the First and Second World Wars to more recent conflicts and deployments including Aden, Northern Ireland, Iraq and Afghanistan.

The local RBL is keen to raise awareness of the support available and reach veterans and serving personnel in our community who may need a helping hand. If you, or someone you know, has served in the Armed Forces and could benefit from support, please don't hesitate to get in touch.

The Legion is also looking to welcome more people into its branches, including younger members, helping to ensure this important community organisation continues to thrive for future generations.

The RBL is about so much more than the Poppy Appeal. It's about supporting our Armed Forces community, remembering those who served and building a community that looks after its own.
