The next Parish Council meeting is to be held on Monday 7th September in The Barn, corner of Eastern Way and Leighton Road, Heath and Reach at 7pm.

Please note this meeting is to be held at 6pm, Tuesday 4th August at The Barn, corner of Eastern Way and Leighton Road.

This meeting is being held to look at the 'Call for Sites' CBC Consultation. There are 9 sites within Heath and Reach that have been shortlisted for possible future development. All residents are invited to comment on the CBC website.

The 'call for Sites' consultation for the new local plan is now open and runs until 17th August.

Given that the Parish Council do not meet again before the closing date, a Planning Committee Meeting has been arranged for 4th August at 6pm in The Barn, Heath and Reach.

The consultation on Submitted Sites in the new Local Plan is now open.
CBC are keen to understand which sites would be the preferred options for allocation within each area. All sites are going through a technical assessment by Officers, looking at issues such as flood risk, site access and relationship to the settlement (for example), and this will show which sites could technically be suitable for development.

Call for Sites

The Parish Council has limited power over potholes, signage, roads, pavements, lighting and parking. One area it can be active in is
monitoring traffic volume and speeds through the village.
PC thanks the residents who give up their time to volunteer for this. Speedwatch can only happen at agreed sites with the police. However, following a request made by a resident attending a PC meeting, Linslade Road has now been added to the site list.
The Parish Council is awaiting Central Bedfordshire Council’s permission to attach Speedwatch signs to CBC posts at the four entrance points to the village.
