A Photo from Rich Docherty, of his father Harry Docherty taken, possibly in Houghton, it has this Name and address on the back

J Smith, 138 woodland view Rainton gate, Houghton le spring.

He believes was taken late 60s after his dad broke his back. They lived in Jarrow at the time but He came to Houghton to recover though He is not sure where as he was very young.

He has since moved to Houghton 20 moths ago and he was amazed to find the photo with the writing on the back from this area. I'm sure someone will know some of these guys and maybe he can find the rest home or hospice where this photo was taken

Has everyone seen this?

This candid, observational Tyne Tees TV news feature powerfully communicates the raw experience of a pitmans shift at Dawdon Colliery in 1967 the heat, dirt, cramped tunnels and deafening noise of coal-cutting machines and conveyors. Without commentary, this film recalls a vanished era of courage and camaraderie for the miners working in hellish conditions two miles out and 1,000 feet below the North Sea, off the Durham coastline.
