We're delighted to announce that Lead the Way has been awarded £3,623 from the CultureDale Connect Fund!

The funding will support a range of creative and cultural activities for people with learning disabilities across Calderdale, helping people connect with others, build confidence, develop new skills and learn more about their local community.

We're looking forward to delivering a fantastic programme of events, including Calderdale Creative Community, a Heritage Walk at The Piece Hall, and a festive Krafty Christmas session.

⚠️ Please note, the date of our first event has changed - this will now take place on Thursday 27th August.

The event, Calderdale Creative Community, will be at Cromwell Bottom Nature Reserve. Participants will have the opportunity to explore local wildlife and create artwork inspired by nature. Check out the poster for more details!

A huge thank you to CultureDale and Calderdale Council for their support in making these opportunities possible. 💚

Yesterday members of our team attended the Calderdale Cancer Aware Cancer Champion Training. This was very worthwhile and great to learn about the work already taking place in Central Halifax. Recently, some members of the nursing team took part in a clinical skills refresher! This included taking observations like blood pressure, pulse, temperature and SATs.

When you go for your annual health check or GP appointments, your observations may be taken. It can be helpful to know these, and you could write them down. We call these your baseline observations.

An event was held at Todmorden group practice during learning disability week. Staff from our team had brilliant time trying new activities. Such as archery, table tennis, curling and tennis. Lots of people came it was really good fun. Active Calderdale Pennine GP Alliance
