Have you ever thought about becoming an On-Call Firefighter with the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service?
Garelochhead is one of the Serviceโs strategically important stations, providing a vital emergency response to the local community and surrounding areas. To maintain that response, we need people from the local community to step forward.
Being an On-Call Firefighter is about much more than fighting fires. You could be called upon to attend road traffic collisions, fires, rescues, flooding and other emergencies, helping people when they need it most.

Could you be eligible?
You generally need to:

Be 18 or over
โ
Have the right to work in the UK
โ
Be able to reach Garelochhead Fire Station within the required response time
โ
Have the required level of fitness and meet the relevant medical/vision standards
โ
Be able to provide the required availability
โ
Be willing to undertake training and ongoing development
You donโt need to be a firefighter already. SFRS will train and support you throughout the process.
Being an On-Call Firefighter can fit around work, family and other commitments, making it an ideal opportunity for people who want to give something back while developing themselves.
