Young Rangers put the new North York Moors Outdoors app to the test on the Lastingham to Hutton-le-Hole walk. Due to the hot weather, the group completed half the route before heading to Ryedale Folk Museum. πŸ₯΅

Along the way, they learned about the area's heritage and how it has shaped the landscape we see today. A highlight for some of the Young Rangers was discovering more about the farming landscape and machinery. πŸšœπŸ’š

πŸ“² North York Moors Outdoors has over 100 walking and cycling routes across the National Park and is available to download on Apple and Android.

Important summer access updates: Ravenscar and Saltwick Bay

🚫 Ravenscar: The footpath from the golf course down to the beach at Ravenscar is closed due to a landslip that has damaged the path and made it unsafe. This means that there is also no way up the cliff for anyone walking along the beach from Robin Hood's Bay or Boggle Hole. There are notices in place at all locations. Please do not risk being cut off by the tide.

🚢 Saltwick Bay: The path to the beach has now reopened following the main phase of improvement work, but work is still ongoing. The path currently has a temporary surface and further work will include topping and compacting the surface and installing handrails on some steeper sections. Please take care, follow the signs and be patient if work is taking place and you're asked to wait briefly while machinery is being used.

Thank you for your patience as we work to keep paths safe for visitors.
