As some of you may have seen, we recently got broken into and they took some of our life saving equipment from the truck. If anyone can help the police in their investigations, please get in touch via the details in their post.

We’re appealing for information about a burglary that occurred in Helmsley.

It happened at Helmsley Fire Station on Sunday 1 February between 1.30am and 2.30am and involved a number of tools worth thousands of pounds being stolen from the station.

Did you witness any suspicious activity in the area around this time? Did you hear or witness anything? Do you have a vehicle with dash-cam parked in the area or CCTV/doorbell footage at your property that may have captured the incident?

Two calls for us yesterday, an Automatic Fire Alarm near Hutton Le Hole and a hybrid car fire here in Helmsley. It’s a busier than average month for us for sure.

Last night during our drill night, we carried out a simulated drowning incident, including our Immediate Emergency Care training. (During an actual incident, we would nitrile gloves but choose not to waste them during training.)

We recently got called out late at night to a child that had locked themselves into a bedroom. After a little bit of work, the child was released and we returned back to station.

This week during our weekly drill night, we practiced our skills needed for when we attend road traffic collisions. There is a lot involved in this so will be doing more again soon.

We have had some interest from new people wanting to join the crew. Which is great but we still have some spaces to fill. So please do get in touch if you’re interested.
