Great photo by one of our visitors - Amanda Shepherdson during a flying demo.

This is Zonda - a 12 year old Grey Buzzard Eagle. Zonda was bred right here at the National Centre for Birds of Prey.

Her primary feathers are being bent up at the ends by air pressure from below. This shape also stops vortices of air being formed and reduces drag - cool eh?

We are open everyday - and Zonda flies every day too! Come and visit

Had to take a video of "Serpentes" our female King Vulture - just because she was looking so fabulous this morning!

King Vultures are found in the forests of central and south America. They are amongst the most colourful of all vultures.

The orange dangly bit above her beak is called a caruncle. It's purpose is unknown but theories suggest it has a role in display and attracting a mate.

Come and meet Serpentes yourself - we are open every day!

Our baby Grey Buzzard Eagle is looking all grown up!

Hatched here at the National Centre for Birds of Prey on 1 July, she has been fostered reared by a pair of Steppe Eagles and is now in her own aviary.

We are open every day - come and visit!

Quick video regarding the stroking of birds of prey.

Basically - please don't!

Raptors get nothing from being stroked and their feathers get damaged too!
