Kyle started his DENS journey doing voluntary work experience at the Kitchen Café in The Forum, Hemel Hempstead. With support from his Employment Coach, Clare, he went on to secure employment as a Project Worker with Sunnyside Rural Trust. 🌱

He has now been named Star Employee of the Year at the Step2Skills Adult Achievement Awards! 🏆

Our clients tell us that when they move from our homelessness hostel into independent accommodation, it can often be a challenge to maintain a healthy diet while also keeping on top of budgets 🍽️💸

The Life Skills course, hosted on a weekly basis at our hostel, is designed to prepare clients for this adjustment – with engaging cookery sessions covering simple, nutritious and cost-effective recipes 🧑‍🍳

The Life Skills programme at our homelessness hostel, The Elms, is designed to help clients develop the skills and knowledge needed to maintain a tenancy and live independently 🏠

Clients attend the course for eight weeks, participating in one classroom and one cooking session every week 🍽️📝

Recent sessions have included budgeting guidance, as well as cooking scones, healthy wrap lunches and pizza 🍕 Delicious! 😋
