Great news. The bridge and footpath levelling is complete. Enjoy.

Unfortunately children have been observed riding their bicycles at speed from the Street over the bridge which has put them in danger as well as users on foot. Please discourage your children from riding in this area for everybody's safety.

National Infrastructure Project - National Grid - Norwich to Tilbury

This national infrastructure project is going to have a huge impact on the visual landscape of Norfolk if the project goes ahead as currently suggested by National Grid.

The pylons proposed to cross South Norfolk are much larger than exiting pylons and Hempnall Parish Council opposes the plan as the dis-benefit of the immediate and long term visual impact outweighs the extra long-term cost of routing the cables under sea.

Click here for a link to a BBC interview with Council Leader John Fuller where he fully outlines South Norfolk and Broadland District Council’s our opposition to the current scheme. An internet search shows that this matter has huge cross-party support to oppose the overhead cables. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/p0fscfms?partner=uk.co.bbc&origin=share-mobile

New Defibrillator
We are pleased to announce the installation of a new defibrillator in the telephone box at the junction of The Street and the B1527. It is suitable for use on adults and children at the flick of a switch. Please spread the word.

Also do not forget there is another defibrillator on the outside wall of the village hall, this one is only suitable for adults.

If you think either defibrillator is in need of repair or attention, please inform the Clerk.

What do I do in an emergency?
You must first call 999 to arrange for help. As well as guiding you through CPR, the call operator will be able to advise you of a nearby defibrillator and the code to open the box. If there is, they will ask you to stay with the patient and continue CPR but ask someone around you to find the defibrillator.

Can anyone use one?
Defibrillators give the person using them clear audio instructions. You cannot hurt someone with a defibrillator because it won’t work unless a person is in cardiac arrest.
