Founded in 2016, World Yoga Festival is hosted by The Arsha Kula Foundation and brings together the most revered collection of teachers every year. Hosted within the stunning grounds of the Henley Showground, it was an opportunity to learn from true masters in the authentic traditions.

Mayor, Ian Reissmann opened the event and Deputy Mayor, Sarah Miller was there for the completion of the weekend.

A buzzing new addition to this year’s Festival of Sunflowers!

We’re delighted to showcase a stunning sunflower and bee sculpture created by Henley College Level 4 UAL Art & Design students Amber Holbrook and Nicole Pencheva.

Handcrafted with incredible attention to detail and designed especially for the festival, the sculpture celebrates both the creativity of our local young people and Henley’s commitment to supporting pollinators and biodiversity.

The sculpture will take pride of place on a 9ft plinth in Henley Market Place on Saturday 8 August, surrounded by hundreds of sunflowers grown by local schools, residents and community groups.

As well as enjoying the beautiful displays, visitors can browse biodiversity stalls, purchase sunflowers in support of The Chiltern Centre, and visit the ever-popular Henley Farmers’ Market to shop local.

We can’t wait to see you there! 🌻💛

We understand the frustration many residents have expressed about bins, rubbish and the cleanliness of some of our town centre streets. We share those concerns and agree that the current situation is not acceptable.

This is a long-standing issue caused by a combination of factors, including missed commercial waste collections, bins being left on the pavement outside collection times, household waste being presented incorrectly and, unfortunately, rubbish being added to bins that have already been left out.

Henley Town Council has been working closely with South Oxfordshire District Council, the Environmental Crime team, waste collection companies and local businesses to help tackle these issues. We've shared photographic evidence of problem areas, met with all three commercial waste contractors operating in the town, and continue to raise concerns where collections have been missed or standards have fallen short.

While we continue this work, we're asking everyone to help by:

âś… Putting rubbish out only on collection day
âś… Taking bins and bags back in if they haven't been collected
âś… Reporting missed collections to South Oxfordshire District Council
âś… Keeping pavements clear wherever possible

A small amount of rubbish can quickly become a much bigger problem. Once bags or bins are left on the street, they often attract additional waste from passers-by, making the issue much worse.

Keeping Henley clean is a shared responsibility, and by working together we can make a real difference for everyone who lives, works and visits our town.

Thank you to everyone who is already doing their bit.
