Don't forget the Henley-on-Thames Summer Festival this weekend in Market Place; it is a fantastic way to celebrate summer in the beautiful setting of Henley. There will be fun for all the family, including live music and children's ride so bring the whole family along to soak up the summer atmosphere, whilst enjoying good food & drink and browsing the stalls offering a great range of quality products.

Such fun in Henley today. Mr Toad had escaped. The Free Land Train is still going around the town and the Brownies and elves are all doing arts and crafts, face-painting and present wrapping in the unit next to Oxfam in Market Place.

There is face-painting at the Kenton with a land train stop nearby and Oxfam books will be doing arts and crafts too.

There will be another Punch and Judy Show at Liz Felix Millinery at 3.00pm don't miss it.

Come and finish (or start) your Christmas shopping and support your local retailers. Why not stay for a bite to eat.

Lots of the retailers have special festive things going on today.

The Mayor’s Annual Santa Fun Run 2016. River & Rowing Museum, Mill Meadows RG9 1BF. Sunday 4th December 2016 at 10.00am - A great family event. Henley’s Annual Santa Fundraising Fun Run is suitable for all ages and abilities. The route is two miles long and starts and finishes at the River & Rowing Museum. All entrants receive a Santa hat and refreshments are provided by The Quince Tree Cafe.

All proceeds to the Mayor’s three official charities: Riverside Counselling /Nomad/Henley YMCA. Registration Costs: Adult: £6
Child (under 10 years): £4, Family: £14. You can register in advance or just pay on the day

Richard Rodway of The Head Partnership launching the 2016 at the Town Hall this evening. Amazingly in its sixth year the Living Advent Calendar goes from strength to strength. A decision has been taken to close the Mill Meadow Toddler Children’s Playground on Monday 14th November to deal efficiently with the increasing rodent population that has made this area its home.

We have closed the park to protect the children who use the park, as obviously, we will need to use poison (in tamper resistant containers) and of course these pests can carry with them some rather unpleasant diseases.

The park is likely to be closed for around six weeks as it is essential for our contractor to complete a rigorous eradication programme.
