With money potentially available from Westminster will Herefordshire be left out (again)? ⬇️

The government’s promise of huge new spending on new social housing nationally could fail to benefit Herefordshire as the county is not set up for such investment, an opposition leader in the county has claimed.

We had a great time on Saturday in High Town talking to local people about their priorities for Herefordshire. And we heard from some visitors about how hard their LibDem MPs Lisa Smart - Liberal Democrats and Max Wilkinson have been working for their communities.

LibDems work hard all year round for Hereford and for Herefordshire.

At Scrutiny Committee this week we examined why the new Hereford Museum & Art Gallery project ended up around £14 million over budget.

I asked whether the council was seeking to recover costs from those whose earlier advice so badly underestimated the true price, and officers confirmed they are pursuing reparations. I also challenged the use of the word “phasing” because, in reality, it means some parts of the project just won’t happen.

It’s important we still deliver a fantastic museum, but it’s equally important we understand how such a significant budgeting error happened so it doesn’t happen again!
