All the profits from the evening are going towards the plans for a new community shop, post office and café in Much Marcle, something that will be so important for our village and the local community. ❤️

A glimpse inside Hellens ✨

The Music Room is full of treasures, three Van D***s, a Goya and a beautiful Steinway piano. The house is still enjoyed by the family too, alongside fascinating collections gathered over generations.

And then there are the extraordinary hand embroidered crewel curtains, created by our Arts Society volunteers. Their unique “Tree of Life” design features Hellen’s imagery and tiny personal touches. From dragonflies and bumblebees to hedgehogs and butterflies. 🦋🌿

A remarkable 4,741 hours of work went into creating them! ❤️

You can see this magical room for yourself by joining one of our incredible house tours. Why not stop by this bank holiday weekend!!

We are open as usual Sunday 30th and Monday 31st 10:30am to 5pm. Book your tour via the link below or drop us a PM 🤍

While we eat most of what we grow in our vegetable gardens, there’s one crop we happily leave for someone else.🌿🐝

We’ve had lots of visitors this year ask why we don’t eat our beautiful artichokes. The answer is simple, we grow them for the bees.

Those enormous artichoke blooms provide rich nectar and heavy pollen loads, making them a vital food source for honeybees and native bumblebees when other flowers may be starting to fade.

So, while they might look like they belong on our dinner table, we’re more than happy to let the bees enjoy them instead. 🐝🌸

Sometimes the best harvest is the one we leave behind for nature. 🌿

When you visit Hellens, our gardens are free to roam. Why not take a look at our beautiful vegetable gardens and maybe you’ll get some inspiration for your own ✨

Hellens Manor introduces A History in Stitches.

Stretching almost ten metres, this extraordinary crewelwork invites you to walk through more than a thousand years of Hellens Manor's story, one stitch at a time.

Conceived in 2017 and brought to life over eight years by thirteen dedicated Arts Society Heritage Volunteers, the frieze is a remarkable feat of creativity, patience and collaboration. Every section has been stitched using traditional crewelwork techniques and heritage shades of wool, weaving together the people, places and moments that have shaped Hellens.

From the Manor's earliest history before 1066 and the families who called it home, to the ancient trees, traditional orchards and the rolling landscape of the Marcle Ridge, each panel reveals another chapter waiting to be discovered.

Rich in detail and full of hidden stories, this is more than an embroidery, it's a living tapestry of Herefordshire's heritage, created by many hands and shared for everyone to enjoy.

Available now to view every Wednesday exclusively at Hellens Manor.
