These youngsters have been hand-reared by the team at Wildwood Kent after sadly losing their mother.

Now that they’re growing up, Tom, Conservation Keeper, is checking whether they’re male or female before they move into a larger enclosure. In the video, he also tells us a little more about their story and the care that has gone into raising them. 🌿

Water voles are one of Britain’s most threatened mammals, and caring for youngsters like these forms part of Wildwood’s wider commitment to the conservation of this incredible species.

Baby adders have arrived at Wildwood! 🐍🌿

Unlike many snakes, adders don’t lay eggs, they give birth to live young. And from the moment they’re born, the youngsters are ready to head off, find food and look after themselves.

In this video, Sophie introduces our newest youngsters and shares the challenges adders face in the wild.

Our three female adders were joined by a male who came to us from Chester Zoo, and we’re hoping there could be even more youngsters to come! 👀🐍
