Join us as the Hertford Family Pride Day returns to Hertford Castle for a joyful celebration of inclusion, diversity and community 💛

This FREE, family-friendly event brings people together in a safe and welcoming space to celebrate with the simple message:
“BE KIND. BE YOURSELF. ALL ARE WELCOME.”

Set on the beautiful main lawn, highlights include:

Yesterday the sun came out for a community collaboration on a new fernery for the grounds of Hertford Castle. Hertford Town Council collaborated with Mudlarks Community Garden (and their dog Barnaby!), Hertfordshire County Council’s Countryside & Rights of Way Service and Hertford Castle Greenspace Renewal’s development phase consultant, Land Use Consultants (LUC), to turn Hertford Castle’s Sunken Garden into a vibrant fernery!

Over 120 ferns were planted in just a few hours! Thanks to everyone who came along to support this activity including Cllr Rachel Carter, Cllr Maura Connolly and Cllr Ben Crystal.

The fernery transformation comes just over a week after the news of Hertford Castle Greenspace Renewal’s The National Lottery Heritage Fund investment. The new fernery is just a taste of what is to come over the next few years! Find out more at: https://www.hertfordcastle.co.uk/greenspacerenewal/
